KOOL-ROD is a closed-cell foam backer rod used to support cold-applied sealants in construction joints. It helps control sealant depth, promotes proper joint design, and reduces the risk of three-sided adhesion failure. KOOL-ROD is lightweight, flexible, and non-absorbent, making it easy to install in both vertical and horizontal joints—including expansion joints, precast panels, window perimeters, and glazing applications.

Compatible with a wide range of cold-applied sealants — including acrylic, polyurethane, silicone, and STPE — KOOL-ROD acts as a non-bonding backer rod to help support proper joint design. Its closed-cell structure resists moisture absorption and helps prevent air entrapment within the joint. Available in multiple sizes for various joint widths, KOOL-ROD is packaged in both spools and bags for contractor convenience.
